You can request an appointment through our website or by calling our office. Our staff will guide you through the intake process and help match you with the right clinician and services.
We require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a fee.
Cohen Psychiatric provides mental health services for patients ages 13 and up.
We take a holistic approach to treatment, which means we consider all aspects of a person's life when developing a treatment plan. We believe in the importance of collaboration and work closely with our patients to develop personalized treatment plans that meet their unique needs and goals.
Psychopharmacology refers to the use of psychiatric medications—such as antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and ADHD medications—to treat mental health conditions. At Cohen Psychiatric, our psychiatrists carefully select medications based on your needs and may recommend pharmacogenetic testing to help personalize your treatment.
Pharmacogenetic testing is a simple cheek-swab test that helps determine how your body metabolizes certain psychiatric medications. Results can guide your psychiatrist in choosing medications that are more likely to be effective and better tolerated, reducing trial-and-error prescribing.
Yes. In addition to medication management, we offer psychotherapy to provide a holistic approach to mental health care.
We do not provide IV ketamine infusions. Instead, we offer Spravato (esketamine) nasal spray, an FDA-approved treatment for treatment-resistant depression. Spravato is administered in a monitored clinical setting to ensure comfort and safety.
Please see our Spravato page for more information.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a safe, FDA-approved treatment for depression that has not improved with standard medications. It uses magnetic pulses to stimulate brain regions involved in mood regulation. TMS is a non-invasive option for patients with treatment-resistant depression.
Please see our TMS page for more information.
Yes. Cohen Psychiatric is an in-network provider with many major insurance plans. This makes accessing high-quality psychiatric care more affordable for our patients. Please contact our office to confirm your coverage.
Most insurance plans cover TMS and Spravato when medically necessary, usually after documentation of prior treatment attempts. Our staff will work with you on the authorization process.
If your plan is out-of-network, you may still choose to see our clinicians and could use out-of-network benefits. We can provide documentation (“superbills”) to assist with reimbursement.
Your first visit will include a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, where we review your history, symptoms, and goals. Together, we will create a personalized treatment plan, which may include medication, therapy, and advanced treatments such as TMS or Spravato.
We aim to provide timely access to care, with initial appointments often available within one to two weeks.
You can contact us by phone or secure email. Our clinicians and staff typically respond in 4-6 hours or less on business days.
